Unit Clerk II (Home Dialysis Services)
About the role
OVERVIEW
The Unit Clerk acts as part of an interdisciplinary team, facilitating patient flow through the Kidney Centre -Home PD/MCKC programs. This involves booking appointments, registration, file management, orientation of the patient/family to the unit, data collection and procurement of supplies. The incumbent will also participate in the on-going collection, review and reconciliation of statistical data for Cancer Care Ontario/Ontario Renal Network along with other quality improvement initiatives.
EDUCATION
-
Grade 12 or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred.

Extensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Public Relations/customer service training preferred.

Successful completion of Cerner training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current outpatient clinic experience an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely
fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and proven organizational skills.
- Proven innovation in problem solving skills and critical thinking.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with co-workers, other
disciplines, other departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instruction/direction and changes.
- Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory.
- Experience using Cerner PM Registration, Cerner Powerchart, Teletracking, ANSOS, MS Office
applications, for example, Word and Excel.
- Experience with Plexxus SAP-SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, terminology and equipment related to renal care.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide family centered care.
- Good work and attendance record required.
