Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Manager, People Experience & Talent is looking for a temporary full-time Employee Wellbeing Specialist. This position is responsible for the design, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of programs and initiatives that support employee wellness, psychological health and safety, engagement, and workforce wellbeing across the organization. As part of the People Experience & Talent Services portfolio, this role will collaborate with Human Resources & Organizational Development employees and key partners to advance corporate priorities in alignment with the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace to foster a high-performing, service-oriented, and people-centered work environment.
Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is at 500 Church Street Penetanguishene.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate employee well-being programs, services and events, including the design, development, promotion, and monitoring of wellness initiatives, educational activities, and offerings provided in partnership with community organizations.
- Support the Psychological Health and Safety Management System by delivering targeted awareness programming and on-site services, and contribute to the Psychological Health, Safety and Wellness framework through leading and participating in various working groups and committees.
- Coordinate access to EFAP and community wellness services, including onboarding employees and their families, and liaising with providers to support programming, communications, and training. Monitor and report on utilization trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of programs and resources in response to emerging needs.
- Partner with the Learning & Development Specialist to coordinate and facilitate Waypoint's Front Line Leadership Training program.
- Partner with the Professional Practice department and People Experience colleagues to develop, coordinate and evaluate the Clinical Mentor stream of Waypoint's Mentorship program.
- As a part of the People Experience & Talent Services portfolio, collaborate with HROD employees and key partners to support departmental and corporate objectives, and represent employee well-being initiatives across committees and working groups.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or Human Resources – Required
- One year of related experience coordinating wellness, engagement or health promotion programs – Required
- A minimum of 2 years of healthcare/human resources experience, preferably in a unionized environment – Required
- Understanding recreation and wellness principles to support and evaluate individual and organizational health needs.
- Community services/activities/speakers or other resources available to provide service/education for special events.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and communication tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe, Teams)
- Verbal and written skills to provide information to managers, employees and external partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage and motivate others.
- Demonstrate values consistent with Waypoint and committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment.
- Strong organization and project coordination skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
