About the role
POSITION SUMMARY: To implement / execute / improve costing analysis and internal controls for the Toronto facility. To maintain Inventory Master records, including bills of material, routings and work centers. To measure Toronto’s departmental performance against the plan, reporting variances and making recommendations to the Operations Leadership Team
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES: Standard Costing
- Create Item Master and affiliated records for all new Molded and Printed inventory items
- Develop routings to allocate labour and overhead costs to inventory items
- Ensure purchased items are costed accurately
- Revalue actual inventory costs monthly based on resin pricing
- Maintain a record of PCNs for changes in tool master, routings and inventory items.
Financial Reporting
- Weekly reporting of Flash results and customer volumes, including labor and overhead spending with managers/supervisors (weekly and monthly)
- Participate in Month-end financial close in agreed-upon time frame for inventory/cost issues.
- Participate in year-end audit
- Analyze material variances and freight and pallet costs (monthly)
Budgeting
- Assist with financial budget preparation for Toronto facility
Internal Controls
- Administration of Bill of Material, Routings and Costed BOMs (daily)
- Administration of daily cycle count adjustments (daily)
- Assist and later lead annual physical inventory to include planning, execution and variance analysis for finished goods, raw materials and W.I.P.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead, facilitate or participate in specific CI projects.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Educational Requirements: University degree – with a major in Accounting
Minimum Experience/Field: 3-5 years’ experience in cost analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer mainframe and Microsoft Office software (Intermediate/advanced Excel)
- Experience in an MRP environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing an asset
Licenses/Permits Required: CPA is an asset
Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
