Campus Life Student Advisor (Up to 8 Positions) - Office of Student Culture and Community Standards - Student Experience Hub
About the role
The Office of Student Culture and Community Standards is currently seeking up to eight (8) individuals to help organize, promote and execute the Campus Life Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Campus Life Student Advisors will have the opportunity to assist in planning, organizing and executing activities and programs.
The Campus Life Program is designed to help enhance the student experience, panther pride, and foster a sense of community belonging through various events and activities.
These positions offer a unique opportunity for current, upper-year UPEI students to provide support in the planning, organizing and execution of programming to create an exciting and welcoming environment for all UPEI students.
Advisors will work directly with the Campus Life Leads and the Office of Student Culture and Community Standards staff to successfully deliver programming.
We are looking for eight (8) passionate individuals who have organization and social skills to make student experiences at UPEI better and more engaging. Candidates should indicate in their cover letter their interest in at least one of the following areas of work:
- Social media
- Recreational sports
- Study sessions
- Campus Life Lounge
- Campus Collaboration Pop-Ups (partnering with various departments to build new student engagement initiatives)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Campus Life Advisor will be responsible for some of the following duties:
- Attend scheduled shifts for Campus Life Lounge and the initiatives of the Campus Life Program and assist with other program requirements
- Support planning and executing the Campus Life Event Schedule for the academic year
- Support initiatives of the Campus Life Program relevant to them such as lounge hours, events, programming, recreational activities, pop-ups, or study sessions
- Support Campus Life Lead Advisors and the Office of Student Culture and Community Standards with their initiatives
- Network with various campus groups to collaborate on events, programming, and other initiatives within the Campus Life Program
- Support and help create a friendly, engaging and vibrant atmosphere during their relevant Campus Life Program/initiative
- Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Office of Student Culture and Community Standards
- Attend and participate in scheduled training sessions, starting in August
- Other duties in assisting with the delivery and promotion of the Campus Life Program as they arise throughout the year, including Welcome Week Programming
- Other related media and event planning duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a UPEI Student in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year in good academic standing
- Previous experience as a Campus Life Advisor, a definite asset
- Excellent understanding of own interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
- Enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Demonstrates creativity
- Works effectively in a team and independently
- Organization and time management skills
- Strong English communication skills
- Knowledge and/or experience incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices, an asset
