About the role

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst for an 18-month opportunity . Working out of BC Place, we are hiring a Financial Analyst who thrives in the fast lane — someone who loves numbers but also loves what they make possible: world-class events, concerts, and international tournaments that bring people together and put Vancouver on the global stage.

From FIFA World Cup matches to sold-out stadium concerts and major sporting events, you’ll have a front-row seat to the moments that define our city — ensuring every financial detail behind them runs seamlessly.

What You Do:

You’ll be at the financial heart of the action — collaborating with event and sales managers, vendors, clients, and internal teams to keep every dollar in check and every report on point. Reporting to the Director, Finance at BC Place, you will;

  • Manage end-to-end financial settlements for high-profile events such as FIFA tournaments, concerts, and other sporting events.
  • Regularly review and finalize event-related financial balances, ensuring all transactions are appropriately recorded and reconciled.
  • Work closely with the AP manager to track payments and Purchase Manager to track purchase orders.
  • Delivering accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance insights.
  • Assist with periodic audits of financial records related to events.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit and loss statements, event-specific summaries, and variance analyses.
  • Supporting audits and driving continuous improvement in our processes.

What You Bring:

You’re an experienced finance professional with a strong foundation in accounting and a keen eye for operational detail. You’re comfortable with spreadsheets and financial discussions, and you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, with a focus on event-based or project-based finance.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial controls
  • Proven success working in fast-paced, multi-entity or event-based organizations
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems Dayforce is a bonus)
  • A sense of curiosity and collaboration
  • Calm under pressure
  • Experienced in financial analysis, AR/AP processes, and budget vs. actual review.
  • Skilled in vendor management, reconciliations, and multi-party settlements.
  • Proficient in SAP, Oracle, and advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and resolve discrepancies.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with internal and external teams.
  • Knowledgeable in audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Background in the sports, music, or event industry with exposure to large-scale financial operations.
  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions and global vendor settlements.
  • Previous experience in working with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.

This isn’t your standard 9-to-5 role.

Month-end and budget cycles can stretch the day to 7 p.m., and on event nights you might find yourself in the stadium late — supporting settlements while the roar of the crowd fades in the background.

In 2026, when the FIFA World Cup arrives, you’ll be part of something truly historic — managing the financial pulse of events that will be watched around the world.

Why Join PavCo

  • You’ll receive benefits from day one
