About the role

Title: Barista

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: The Safe Cafe

**Employment:**Full Time, 20 hrs/wk

Compensation:$17.50 - $19.50 / hour

**Hours:**Between 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. 3-month probation and review.

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

Are you someone who loves coffee, connection, and community? We're hiring a Barista to join our front-of-house team! This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to build their skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment while delivering great service and even better lattes.

What You’ll Do

  • Crafting espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages

  • Greeting guests and creating a warm, welcoming café atmosphere

  • Supporting team members in keeping the café tidy and well-stocked

  • Taking and processing orders with accuracy and efficiency

  • Learning the art of great coffee—and how to work under pressure with style

Who You Are

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and eager to learn

  • Able to stay calm and organized in a busy setting

  • A strong communicator and team player

  • Committed to punctuality, cleanliness, and hospitality

What You Bring

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to follow detailed instructions and standard drink recipes

  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs

  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • No formal education required

Additional Requirements

  • Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain) preferred

  • Barista or customer service experience is an asset but not required—training provided!
