Ice Plant Operator
The City of Thompson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Ice Plant Operator. The
successful candidate will be a Grade 12 graduate or equivalent, possess a valid Class 5 MB Driver’s License
and have the ability to operate equipment as per the job description. The incumbent will possess
certification in Ice Plant Operation through the Department of Labour (Refrigeration or 4th Class Power
Engineer ticket as a minimum).
Some of the duties include operating ice resurfacer (Zamboni) flooding of ice and ice edger to carry out ice maintenance, observing
and recording ice plant readings and maintaining or reporting any malfunctions, performing regular
general clean-up and maintenance of all recreation facilities, including community green spaces and other
Related Duties As Per The Job Description. Please note the position is conditional upon the successful passing of a
Criminal Records Check and Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
This is a full-time position involving days, afternoons and weekend shift work. The City of Thompson
