EAP Responsibilities:
-
Delivery of finished product to the customer/pick-up of raw materials at the mills.
-
Responsible for securing a safe & legal load.
-
Perform related computer functions (scanning, billing, finalizing, etc.)
-
Complete daily trip sheet and/or electronic logs as applicable and ensure that all associated records are completed and submitted.
-
Maintains logs, drivers trip reports, vehicle condition reports, related records, maintenance, and repairs to vehicles.
-
Maintains eligibility for commercial driver’s license and complies with applicable Department of Transportation regulations as well as local traffic laws governing operation of vehicle.
-
Responsible for the safe operation of vehicle on public roadways and customer & supplier locations.
-
Always conduct themselves with a professional demeanor, to project an appropriate corporate image in all dealings with customers and the public.
-
On occasion may be responsible for picking up customer payments after delivery has been made
-
Performs all other duties as assigned. General:
-
Knowledgeable and experienced in load securement (strapping, chaining, tarping)
-
Strong understanding of MTO and DOT regulations, including hours-of-service rules
-
Knowledge of load securement standards (NSC Standard 10)
-
Ability to perform proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections
-
Ability to read maps, GPS systems, and follow dispatch instructions
-
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
-
Subject to completion of all pre-employment screenings Physical Requirements:
-
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy equipment (chains, lumbar)
-
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
-
Capable of frequent climbing, bending, and securing loads at heights Education & Qualifications:
-
Valid Ontario Class AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record (CVOR abstract required)
-
Valid Medical Certificate in compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards
-
Air Brake (Z) endorsement
-
2-3+ years of proven commercial driving experience (48’/53’ tractor-trailer combinations)
-
6 months – 1+ year of Flatbed/Conestoga experience required
-
Multi axle steel flatbed hauling experience required
-
Strong safety mindset and complaince focus SAMDR
