THE ROLE

Our Complex Director of People and Culture will serves as a strategic business

partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, driving people initiatives supporting  business objectives and fostering an exceptional associate experience. This is a highly visible role requiring an engaged and hands-on leader who is passionate about building culture, developing talent, and creating an environment where associates and leaders can thrive. The ideal candidate will be a trusted coach and mentor, partnering with department leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities, enhance team performance, and cultivate a positive workplace culture.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and execute annual Human Resources strategies and objectives, based on a sound understanding of hotel operations and annual business goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by ensuring compliance with Concord Hospitality's human resources policies, procedures, and employee relations philosophies.
  • Drive associate engagement and strengthen the hotel's culture through meaningful programs, initiatives, and leadership development efforts.
  • Lead the design and implementation of training and development programs, including leadership development, compliance training, anti-harassment, and anti-discrimination initiatives, and performance management, supporting operational excellence and leadership growth.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
  • Monitor workforce trends, including turnover and retention, and recommend strategies to improve associate engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Promote open communication through an accessible, open-door approach, town hall meetings, and proactive engagement with associates at all levels.
  • Partner with hotel leadership during the budgeting process, including workforce planning, productivity management, benefits administration, and labor and employee relations costs.
  • Lead all recruitment and hiring efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Oversee the performance management process, ensuring timely and effective administration of performance reviews across all departments.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant Human Resources records and systems in accordance with applicable federal, provincial, state, and local employment laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Canadian employment, labor, and human rights legislation.
  • Champion Concord Hospitality's culture of safety by promoting awareness, education, and accountability throughout the hotel.
  • Conduct market wage and salary analyses as needed to support competitive compensation practices.
  • Manage and investigate employee and labor relations matters while providing sound, legally compliant recommendations and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in hotel or hospitality HR leadership strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and lead with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Pay Range:  $87,400 - $115,000
