About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical or Integrated Engineer II, supporting our growing Pilot Production Facilities. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams—design, quality, development, and manufacturing—to translate engineering needs into real-world solutions that enhance product quality, reliability, and production efficiency. You'll also coordinate contractors onsite and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and equipment.

We're looking for someone who brings strong engineering expertise, the ability and desire to work hands-on to solve problems, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to work. A commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence is essential.

What You’ll Do

Systems, Equipment, & Maintenance

  • Install, commission, and maintain building systems and plant equipment, including R&D Chemistry Equipment, compressed air systems, inert gas systems, HVAC, water systems, dehumidification systems, vacuum gloveboxes, and custom electrochromic window manufacturing tools
  • Support the continuous improvement of facility arrangement
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance of equipment ->implement solutions hands on using technical documentation & tools
  • Manage procurement of parts, supplies, and tools as needed to maintain operational readiness

Project Execution & Engineering

  • Support the design, fabrication, and integration of custom R&D and manufacturing equipment
  • Write, execute and own project plans, including defining scope, timeline, and budget
  • Lead technical projects from concept through completion with minimal supervision
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the new Demonstration Plant facility

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with R&D, materials, integration, testing, and manufacturing teams to support process and product development
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure project alignment and technical success
  • Communicate project updates and technical findings through regular presentations and briefings to cross-functional stakeholders

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all plant safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and general lab protocols
  • Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Integrated, Manufacturing, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant hands-on engineering experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred) for equipment/component design
  • Familiarity with electrochromic materials and devices is an asset, but not required
  • Previous project management and contractor management experience an asset

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems and equipment
  • Experience disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing technical systems independently
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and implement actionable improvements
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience working with hand and power tools; ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

  • Personal interest in technical hobbies (e.g., mechanics, machining, woodworking, etc) is a strong asset

Please Note

  • This position requires full-time, in-office presence at our Olympic Village locations.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
