GERM 202 D2-002 – German Language, Beginners (3 credits)
Teaching Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:35 am - 10:25 am
Course start and end dates: January 5, 2026 to April 14, 2026
Location: 680 Sherbrooke, 451
Salary: $11,479
Course details: A comprehensive first-level course designed to develop communicative skills.
Teaching Qualification Requirements: M.A. or Ph.D. in German or registered in the German Studies graduate program at McGill. Native or near native fluency in German required.
Experience: A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a graduate student in German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at McGill University. Course lecturers must demonstrate a familiarity with the course materials used in German Studies language courses.
Position Summary:
A Course assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:
a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
b) delivery of the Course;
c) evaluation of students;
d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
f) upon request, review of their students’ grades;
g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;
Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.
