About the role

Brannon Steel is looking for an industrial Band Saw Operator to join the team at its Brampton manufacturing facility on the day shift.

Duties

  • Above all else, work safely!
  • Setup, operate and troubleshoot one or more industrial band saws.
  • Handle steel bar, structural and tube stock using overhead crane.
  • Perform basic saw maintenance including blade changes, calibration, and maintaining fluid levels.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cut parts.
  • Use hand and power tools to clean cut parts.
  • Pack cut parts according to instructions.
  • Organize equipment and materials to minimize downtime.
  • Complete required production and quality documents.
  • Complete assigned housekeeping activities and contribute to overall shop cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist other Saw staff when work schedule permits.

Requirements

  • Strong experience cutting steel or other metals with a programmable industrial band saw.
  • Strong overhead crane operator experience including basic rigging.
  • Skilled at reading part drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of basic and precision measuring tools.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with an eye for shapes and dimensions.
  • Able to count large quantities accurately and perform basic math.
  • Speak, read, and write English at a conversational level.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kgs).
  • Able to work Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
