Job Opportunity: Furniture Maintenance Contractor (8-Week Term)
Position Summary
The Sundial Hotel Whistler is seeking a reliable and hardworking contractor for an 8-week term position within our Maintenance Department. This role focuses primarily on furniture maintenance, furniture moving, and furniture reconditioning in the maintenance shop.
The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the quality and appearance of hotel furniture and fixtures while supporting the overall upkeep of hotel operations. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and working independently as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Furniture Maintenance & Reconditioning
- Repair, refinish, clean, and recondition hotel furniture and fixtures
- Inspect furniture for damage and determine appropriate repairs
- Perform minor carpentry, sanding, staining, painting, and touch-up work
- Assist with upholstery touch-ups and furniture assembly as needed
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the maintenance shop
Furniture Moving & Logistics
- Move furniture, and hotel fixtures between suites, storage areas, and workspaces
- Assist with room refreshes, renovations, and inventory organization
- Safely load, unload, and transport furniture and materials
- Follow proper lifting and safe handling procedures
General Support
- Support the Maintenance Team with additional duties as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Report maintenance concerns, damages, or safety hazards promptly
- Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly
Position Details
- 8-week contractor position
- Full-time hours available
- Work primarily based in the maintenance shop and hotel property
- Start date: 29th of May
