Your Role in a Nutshell

As Director of Finance, you'll manage operational financial reporting, budgeting, and planning processes across all key business functions, playing a leading role in ensuring the company meets its short- and long-term targets. This is more than a numbers role: we're looking for a genuine business partner who can sit at the table with Sales, Operations, and Product, not just report results after the fact. You'll help navigate complexity most finance professionals don't get exposure to, multiple product lines spanning SaaS and AI, and multi-entity operations across five countries.

What You Will Do

Take a hands-on role in leading the financial reporting process, including preparing consolidated financial statements, monthly management reports, and analysis to guide decision-making Act as a strategic business partner to cross-functional leaders, not just a reporting function, and help make the CFO's day-to-day easier by proactively surfacing insights Help guide financial decisions across BoomerangFX's SaaS and AI product lines, genuinely new territory where your judgment on where to invest will directly shape outcomes Prepare accounting records and documentation, including bank and credit card reconciliations, inter-company accounts, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and HST filings Manage year-end external audits and be the main point of contact Manage accounting controls and tools (e.g. QuickBooks Online, Ceridian, Float), and lead the modernization of financial systems and reporting tools, a genuine opportunity to rebuild infrastructure for scale, not just maintain what exists Assist in the annual forecasting and budgeting process Ensure compliance with local law, tax provisions, and relevant industry and financial regulations

What We Are Looking For

We care more about what you know and how you lead than the letters after your name. That said, here's the foundation we're looking for: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field CPA designation (Canada) preferred; candidates with equivalent professional experience, a strong technical grasp of financial reporting and controls, or CPA in progress are encouraged to apply. CMA is an asset 8–10 years of experience as a senior accountant, financial controller, FP&A, or similar role, including hands-on ownership, not just oversight Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organization and time management skills A genuine leader: ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with internal business partners and department leads An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, building processes from scratch, and adapting quickly in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment SaaS or high-growth company experience is a plus, not a requirement Experience with multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction, or MNC environments is a strong asset
