WEB SUPPORT SPECIALIST (BAND LEVEL 4) (WEB CONTENT ASSISTANT)

Division of Marketing and Communications

(Contractual Position to June 12, 2026)

This competition may be used to fill identical positions in this unit within three (3) months of the closing date All qualified employees are welcome to apply, however preference is given to CUPE members The University will consider applications from qualified permanent staff who may be interested in a temporary assignment, subject to departmental approval DUTIES Reporting to the Manager, Web Content Services, the Web Support Specialist will be responsible for providing front-line web support for Memorial’s institutional website, mun.ca. Duties include assisting with updating web content with a focus on main, hub, pan-University and other major websites on mun.ca; providing end-user support for Memorial’s web content management systems (WCMS), including troubleshooting and providing solutions or advice on system or content issues; assisting with updating training materials and other resources for WCMS users, including leading the revamp of the T4 user guide, preparing for upcoming system upgrades, and assisting in developing new accessibility resources to support WCMS users; assisting with website launches, content migrations, redesigns, and other web-based marketing or communications projects; supporting the maintenance of websites in compliance with Memorial’s brand and web accessibility standards; assisting with website analytics and user testing, including providing Tier 1 Google Analytics (GA4) support, generating reports in Looker Studio, helping units interpret analytics data, and supporting the advancement of MarComm’s digital presence; responding to web feedback; and performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications Experience (1-3 years) in a web content, support, or help desk environment; completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to continually learn and adapt to changing skill requirements. Knowledge and experience with website analytics and web content management are preferred. Knowledge and experience with TerminalFour and/or other web content management systems, web best practices and trends, Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio reporting, and web accessibility best practices will be considered an asset.

SALARY $50,294 - $58,998 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
