About Provident

Provident is Vancouver's only full-service security company. Since 1996, we've built a reputation for discretion, quality, and reliability—serving some of the most high-profile homes and clients in Canada. We offer comprehensive solutions including custom alarm installation, access control, home automation, 24/7 monitoring, and guaranteed five-minute physical response.

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive, top-of-market hourly rate

  • Extended health and dental benefits

  • Company vehicle, fuel card, tools, laptop, and phone provided

Work-Life Balance

  • Flexible scheduling options, including condensed work weeks (4x10s or Tuesday–Saturday shifts)

Career Development

  • Clear advancement pathways into project leadership, technical design, or system consulting

  • A supportive, respectful environment where your expertise is valued

The Role

You'll install and service premium security and low-voltage systems in custom homes and commercial properties across Vancouver's Westside, North Shore, Bowen Island, and Whistler. Working independently and collaboratively with other trades, contractors, and designers, you'll deliver exceptional, discreet service in some of Canada's most prestigious residences.

This isn't a high-volume installation shop. At Provident, we design, install, and support our systems over the long term. You'll be involved in complete project lifecycles—from installation and programming to troubleshooting, client training, and ongoing support. Your work establishes lasting client relationships backed by our in-house monitoring and alarm response teams.

Systems & Technologies

  • Intrusion & Control: DSC Neo, ELK

  • Video Surveillance: Avigilon, alarm.com

  • Access Control: 2N, Avigilon

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in security, low-voltage, or AV installation

  • Valid BC Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract

  • Comfortable collaborating with builders, trades, and contractors

Professional Standards

  • You take pride in clean, technically sound work and value doing things right the first time

  • You carry yourself professionally and can be trusted in sensitive, high-end environments

  • You possess excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • You're a calm professional who thrives in well-organized teams

Why This Role Is Different

Our clients expect the best, and so do we. We're looking for someone who double-checks their work, takes ownership of quality, and wants to build lasting trust through consistent, exceptional service. The environments we work in demand discretion, professionalism, and precision—every time.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter explaining why you'd be a great fit at Provident Security. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

About Provident Security

Consumer Services
11-50

Unlike most security firms that contract out alarm monitoring or installation services, Provident provides a truly end-to-end solution. We own our own 24/7 central monitoring station in Kerrisdale where we manage security services for our approximately 6,000 Vancouver and Whistler clients.

From our sales process, to customer service, to alarm monitoring and alarm response you will always be dealing with a Provident team member. We do not use sub-contractors and we control every single step of our processes.

Most importantly, Provident is the only company in North America that offers a guaranteed five minute response when your alarm trips.

In addition to system design, installation, monitoring and response, Provident also offers a complete Concierge service. Whether you are away for your home for a few days, or for an extended period, Provident will water your plants, feed your cat, walk your dog, shovel your walkway, stock your fridge or even drive you to the airport.

Provident's unique approach to providing a complete security service was one of the reasons we were recognized as the 2011 Installer of the Year by Security Sales & Integration Magazine as the top security firm in North America. This was the first time that a Canadian firm has been recognized with the award.
