The opportunity Reporting to the Advisor, Internal Communications, the Coordinator will actively contribute to the deployment of effective communication initiatives that inform, inspire, and engage employees across the various countries where Gildan operates. In addition, this role will oversee the coordination of Gildan’s philanthropic program in Canada.

The ideal candidate is a creative, collaborative, and adaptable professional with a passion for storytelling. This role is well-suited for someone who can quickly adapt, build strong relationships, and motivate others, while effectively delivering internal communication initiatives tailored to diverse audiences.

The role Internal Communications

  • Draft content for the Company’s Intranet and other internal platforms
  • Create engaging internal communications campaigns that align with company culture and values
  • Provide communications support to various departments and stakeholders across the organization
  • Prepare monthly internal communication reports and analyze engagement metrics
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of company-wide events and employee engagement activities
  • Conduct administrative tasks as needed

Translation

  • Coordinate all translation required in internal and external corporate communications
  • Proofread and review translations for various departments to ensure quality and consistency
  • Ensure alignment of tone, brand voice, and terminology across languages

Community Engagement

  • Coordinate donations program in Canada
  • Prepare monthly reports of community engagement initiatives and compile results for rankings
  • Coordinate employee fundraising activities at the corporate head office, including the Centraide campaign
  • Coordinate volunteering activities for Head Office employees
  • Support the promotion of community initiatives through internal channels

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Public Relations, or other related fields
  • Between 0-3 years of experience in communications
  • Fluently bilingual, spoken and written (English and French)
  • Strong ability to create and manage Intranet/web content
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Flexibility in personality, tasks and schedule
  • Strong organizational skills with particular attention to details
  • Ability to work on different projects at the same time and manage priorities
  • Autonomous and self-starter
  • Creative and innovative thinker with an eye for employee engagement opportunities
  • Ability to assimilate information rapidly and translate it into clear, accessible communications
  • Highly reliable and discrete in handling proprietary and confidential information
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of graphic design, basic video editing, or digital content tools (e.g., Canva) considered an asset
  • This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
