Role Overview Teck Trail Operations is currently recruiting for a Procurement Coordinator to support our Supply Chain Management team at the Trail Operations. Reporting to the Superintendent, Supply Chain Management, this role is responsible for supporting effective and efficient procurement of goods, services, materials, and equipment essential to the operation. The successful candidate will contribute to commercial strategy development, RF(x) preparation and execution, supplier engagement, contract negotiation, and procurement analytics, while supporting both Procurement and Warehousing functions.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Executing procurement activities in alignment with commercial and operational objectives.
  • Managing supplier relationships and supporting contract development and administration.
  • Facilitating purchase order processes (RFx) and contributing to supply chain reporting and analysis.
  • Supporting system improvements and risk mitigation initiatives across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education and/or experience in business, commerce, supply chain, or a related technical discipline. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with the capacity to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead an assigned set of commodities, contracts, or commercial arrangements including researching opportunities to reduce costs, working in cross-functional teams, and improving value from commercial arrangements
  • Advise stakeholders on sourcing strategies, commercial negotiations, and risk mitigation to support informed procurement decisions.Develop bid lists, solicit quotations, and evaluate supplier proposals to ensure optimal commercial terms and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Support supply chain logistics for key supply agreements from supplier location to receipt of goods including defining material packaging requirements, coordinating with production/operations as required, defining incoming transportation requirements, and coordinating supplier shipping and manufacturing schedules
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, and other departments to identify and implement enhancements to procurement and inventory systems for greater efficiency.Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end users and staff, ensuring they are proficient in Procurement and Warehouse processes and system functionalities
  • Partner with Warehouse and Procurement teams to manage replenishment contracts and identify alternative supply sources to maintain inventory availability.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, delivery timelines, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting/Finance, Business, or related area is required. A combination between education and experience will be considered
  • 2-5 years experience in a Supply Chain Management, Business Analyst or Project Management related role on an industrial site (co-op or internship experience also considered).
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle (JDE) or SAP S/4HANA /Ariba systems is considered an asset.
  • Experience within a mining and/or processing industry is preferred

Please note this role does require the successful candidate to live within 100KM of Trail, British Columbia. Relocation assistance will be offered however there is no camp or company housing.

Pay Range: CAD $93,000 - $115,000
