Job Type: Full Time Seasonal (May through October)

Position Overview

As a Supervisor of Food & Beverage, you should share a passion for service excellence and infuse enthusiasm into everything you do. Your excellent leadership ensures the team provides prompt, warm, and reliable service to guests dining in our restaurants. You are professional, personable, and proud to represent the Cabot brand, and proactively act as an ambassador and role model of exceptional service.

  • Food and Beverage: Appreciating the culinary arts, understanding different cuisines, and being knowledgeable about the beverages served can enhance your ability to supervise effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Overseeing and inspiring a team consisting of servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Embracing leadership and consistently being a dependable team leader.
  • Problem Solving: Finding enjoyment in troubleshooting and maintaining composure in hire pressure environments while resolving customer complaints, navigating staffing concerns, or tackling operational issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to the small details, including table settings, menu presentation, and food plating, can have a significant impact on the guest experience.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • High school diploma and/or previous retail management experience required
  • Previous restaurant supervision an asset, though not required
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in NS (19)
  • Serve Right certification (or equivalent) required
  • Must have experience with Point of Sales systems (i.e. Micros)
  • Extended knowledge of food, beverage and the daily function of a fast-paced establishment
  • Must contain working knowledge of wines, spirits and beer
  • Must be professional, personable and well-presented
  • Ability to work flexible hours – mornings, weekends and evenings as required
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and be detail oriented

Requirements Of The Role You Should Be Aware Of

  • Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
  • As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
  • Long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, and crouching while performing other duties is to be expected
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise moving objects up to 50 lbs in weight
  • Frequently ascending or descending stairs and ramps
  • There may be interactions with patrons who are impaired
  • Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected
  • Based on the nature of this position, you would experience long periods of guest interactions
