Purpose:
Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company that provides design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. It is a Company with a 60-year history in Vancouver with diverse cultures, talents, and highly skilled professionals. Chemetics operates a specialized alloy fabrication shop in Pickering, ON.

We are currently recruiting for a Administrative Assistant. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based at our fabrication facility in Pickering, ON, Canada.

The Administrative Assistant provides timely and reliable administrative support to the Pickering operations team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations and supporting a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate onboarding of new hires for the fabrication shop, including entering and updating employee information in the HR system.
  • Accurately enter daily timesheets for approximately 100 shop employees, ensuring correct project coding.
  • Generate and review timesheet and payroll reports; verify leave hours and reconcile payroll data.
  • Process payroll reports and remit union dues in a timely manner.
  • Arrange travel logistics for operations staff.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for team members.
  • Provide general administrative support to the operations team, including handling correspondence, scheduling, and other tasks as required.
  • Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Relevant years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • College or university degree in business administration or a related field.
