Paladin Security is Hiring a Security Guard! Location: Toronto, ON

Schedule: Monday to Friday (1300 - 1900 hrs)

Pay Rate: $19.83/hour

Overview Join one of Canada's leading security teams and help protect a high-profile downtown Toronto office environment. As a Mail Screening Security Guard , you'll play a key role in maintaining the safety and integrity of daily mail operations, ensuring all incoming and outgoing packages are handled efficiently and securely.

This role combines operational precision, strong attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset. You'll work closely with mail operations, building staff, and external delivery services to maintain the highest level of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and sort incoming mail by recipient, size, and department.
• Operate X-ray Security Screening Systems to detect foreign or prohibited objects.
• Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail efficiently throughout the building.
• Weigh outgoing packages, determine shipping methods, and prepare manifests for carriers (UPS, DHL, etc.).
• Track and maintain shipping registers and contact carriers regarding delivery inquiries.
• Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with clients and visitors.
• Perform data entry and generate weekly/monthly mailroom reports.
• Maintain clear communication with teams through written and verbal correspondence.
• Support administrative functions such as faxing, mailing, and document distribution.
• Ensure all mailroom safety and security procedures are strictly followed.
• Perform additional duties in related areas such as printing, warehouse, or inserter operations, as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid WSIB-approved Standard Level C First Aid with CPR and AED
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in security
• Ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months
• Availability to attend unpaid orientation (Monday to Thursday, 0900 - 1700) at corporate head office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 40-100 lbs as required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
