The Opportunity

If you have a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of fabrication and welding quality, and take pride in ensuring products meet high standards, this role is built for you. At All‑Equip/Platinum Trailers, you’ll be responsible for inspecting sub‑assemblies, welds, and completed components to ensure they meet the quality expectations our trailers are known for. You’ll work closely with assemblers, welders, and supervisors to identify issues early, prevent rework, and maintain consistent quality across the production line.

Work Arrangement: Full‑Time, Fully On‑site, Monday to Friday, day shift depending on production needs. This is a hands‑on, on‑site role in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation

This is a hourly position paying $24-$32/hr depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including Extended Health Care, Dental, and RRSP contributions. Overtime is available for those who want it.

About Us

All-Equip is a family-owned manufacturer with a genuine entrepreneurial spirit: if it moves, hauls, or solves a problem in the transportation sector, we’ll find a way to build it. Founded in 2011, we’ve grown into a recognized leader in both trailer manufacturing and heavy equipment repair and service, and it’s that repair experience that gives us a real edge. We’ve seen what fails in the field, what holds up under pressure, and what the competition consistently gets wrong.

That knowledge is baked into everything we do.

The Role

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll inspect welds, sub‑assemblies, and fabricated components throughout the production process. You’ll verify measurements, check weld quality, ensure assemblies meet engineering specifications, and work with the team to correct issues before they move downstream. You’ll help maintain consistency, reduce defects, and uphold the quality standards expected at Platinum Trailers.

In a typical week, you’ll inspect welds, verify fit‑ups, check assemblies against drawings, document issues, and collaborate with welders and assemblers to resolve problems.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect welds, sub‑assemblies, and fabricated components for quality, accuracy, and conformity to specifications. Verify measurements, alignment, and fit‑ups according to engineering drawings. Identify defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, misalignment, or improper weld size. Document quality issues and communicate findings clearly to supervisors and welders. Work with production teams to correct problems before assemblies move downstream. Ensure all components meet Platinum Trailers’ quality standards before final assembly. Maintain organized inspection records and follow established QA procedures. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending solutions. Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.

What We Offer

Full‑time, year‑round work, Monday to Friday (Days). Extended Health Care and Dental benefits. RRSP plan. Bi‑weekly direct deposit. Overtime available for those who want it.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in welding inspection, fabrication quality control, or a related mechanical/fabrication trade. Strong understanding of weld quality standards and common weld defects. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements. Comfortable using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, gauges, and calipers. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong communication skills; able to give clear feedback to welders and assemblers. Physically capable of working in a shop environment (standing, bending, lifting). Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced production setting.

Education & Certifications

Experience in trailer, agricultural equipment, or heavy equipment manufacturing. Background in welding or fabrication (CWB experience an asset but not required). Familiarity with quality assurance processes and documentation. Forklift or overhead crane certification.
