Your Opportunity
As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of Orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient's physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care while working to your full LPN scope of practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Classification: LPN - Orthopaedic Tech Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Emergency Department Primary Location: Northeast Community Health Ctr Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.87 Posting End Date: 23-JUL-2026 Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits Date Available: 02-AUG-2026 Temporary End Date: 31-JUL-2027 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 52 Shift Pattern: Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $42.91 Maximum Salary: $56.52 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications
Minimum 6 months of experience as an orthopedic technician. Connect Care Training. As required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an Emergency Department. Previous experience in an Acute Care, Cast clinic, Med/Surg or ICU department.
