The Yukon public service has a unique opportunity for recent graduates who have a post-secondary diploma or degree but lack real-world work experience. With GradCorps, you can kick-start your career while putting your passion, ideas and energy to work with the Yukon public service.
The Department of Highways and Public Works has a GradCorps opportunity for a Client Service Specialist. Working with the IT and Client Solutions branch, this position will manage IT work requests from clients, providing first-level technical support and troubleshooting.
This position will work for a one-year Term from approximately May 2026 to April 2027. The salary will be 80% of the starting salary - $57,058

Essential Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; or Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Business or related field, with coursework related to Computer Science, Information Technology or similar topics. Customer service experience is an asset.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on:
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to learn new computer systems and procedures.
- Strong client service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
***Conditions of Employment:***Class 5 Yukon Drivers’ License.
Job Requirements: Must be willing to travel throughout the Yukon.
NOTE: To qualify for the GradCorps program, you must:

be a resident of Yukon or a person of Yukon First Nations ancestry*

have graduated with a diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution within the past two years (2024, 2025 or 2026 grads – all requirements for graduation must be complete before internship start date)

have little or no work experience in your field of study

If you are a resident of Yukon who completed your studies outside of the territory, you may apply up to two years after graduation.
