About The Job Arrow Lakes Hospital (ALH) is a small Level 1 community hospital in the Kootenay Boundary health service area situated between Nelson and Vernon. ALH does not have acute care beds but offers laboratory and radiology; urgent care; outpatient ambulatory care; community services; long term residential care services; and doctors’ offices.
Medical Laboratory Assistants performs a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties. This position will also be required to travel to Slocan Community Health Centre in New Denver, BC, two days a week.
This is a Permanent Part Time (0.62) opportunity. Shifts of work will be scheduled Monday to Wednesday from 06:45 to 14:45, 07:30 to 15:30 hours.
