About This Location:
Our Home Office is located in the heart of Bloor West Village in Toronto, just steps away from Jane Subway station. This position is a hybrid role where your time will be spent in office and working from home, based on operational requirements.
About This Role Under the supervision of the Director, Payroll and Compensation, the Payroll Coordinator processes payroll and performs other payroll related administrative duties as required and ensures that employees are paid accurately and on time. They will also assist the Human Resource Department in various processes related to employee compensation.

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities
- Minimum of a college diploma in business or other related studies.
- Minimum 4 years previous full cycle payroll experience with both salary and hourly and unionized payrolls.
- Successful completion of the National Payroll Institute (PCP) certification is preferred.
- Experience with ADP WFN is required.
- Multi-provincial (including Quebec) and/or multi-location experience is an asset.
- Union payroll experience an asset.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi task .
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
- Process and input high volume bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly and union payrolls in accordance with established company practices and procedures.
- Collect, analyze, enter, calculate and verify payroll information, including hours and statutory deductions.
- Review time records for accuracy, completeness and authorization in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain and adjust employee information in the HRIS system , including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes to compensation., ADP Workforce Now (WFN) .
- Perform off-schedule payments, such as replacement cheques, termination pays , lump sum payments.
- Responds and assists employees and managers with payroll-related questions in a timely manner.
- Partners with the HR team on employee related matters including terminations, leaves of absences etc.
- Trains managers on Arbor’s time and attendance programs as required.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues in partnership with the Director, Payroll and Compensation.
- Verify journal entries produced by ADP and occasionally prepare manual journal entries.
- Ensure payment of various deductions such as garnishments and union dues are sent to the appropriate authorities accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee records and file various documents.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing payroll information as requested.
- Collaborate with the HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate employee management and seamless operations.
- Process and verify Records of Employment for terminated employees.
- Respond and verify requests for information from various agencies including the Canada Custom and Revenue Agency (CCRA) and Service Canada.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly payroll statements, WCB, EHT, Union Dues and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and process payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, including year-end tax statements (T4/R1 and T4A).
