Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Work setting: Custom cabinet shop. Millwork shop. Tasks: Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.. Instruct apprentices. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Supervise other workers. Area of specialization: Millwork. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Organized. Team player. Punctuality. With a 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility centrally located in Etobicoke Ontario Canada no project is too large or complex to schedule.
