The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $67,200 - $88,200. The offered salary will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for an analytical, and solutions-oriented individual with Accounting & Budgeting experience to support the Toyota Marketing Department. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Nameplate Marketing for administration of cost center budget and National Manager of Toyota Marketing for Total Marketing budget.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the nameplate and brand cost center budgets, coordinating the process to amalgamate the budget from the different cost centers, and reporting to F&A on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis (all through SAP). Within these Finance & Accounting-driven timelines, the selected candidate will provide ongoing visibility through analysis (risks/opportunities) & reporting of the budget to the Toyota Marketing management and coordinate the quarterly forecasting and annual budget planning process.

What You’ll be Doing:
Nameplate and Brand Marketing Budget
- Responsible for creating, tracking and maintaining a detailed report for Nameplate and Brand budget control purposes (SAP report creation) working closely with Consultant Marketing, Planners (car,truck & brand)
- Responsible for providing ongoing visibility of budgets with Managers and Planners on both Nameplate and Brand teams
- Month-end activities including accrual submission, variance analysis and journal entries
- Reconciliation with media and production blocking charts
- Review Monthly agency billing packages and summaries
- Oversees requisitions (purchase order requests) and invoice management for various goods and services
- Ensures compliance of estimates and billing with sales tax laws, in consultation with Tax department
- Liaison with agencies and vendors for billing and reconciliation purposes
- Responsible for processing other invoices from our vendors in a timely manner
- Responsible for developing documentation for budget & procurement pre-approvals
Total Marketing Budget
- Monthly Budgeting: Month-end activities including accrual submission, variance analysis and journal entries
- Quarterly Forecast: Responsible for submitting quarterly forecast to Finance and senior management –Toyota Marketing (incl. Lexus Digital and Toyota/Lexus Auto Shows)
- Responsible for annual budget planning and submission
- Responsible for Marketing OPEX Budget reporting and submission (w/ National Manager, Marketing)
- Coordinate with other budget administrators to provide holistic view of Marketing budget to accurately assess risk/opportunity on a monthly basis
- Responsible for setting up monthly meetings with Marketing Manager's to provide insight, context of total budget post amalgamation of cost centres
- Develop and initiate a proactive approach to managing visibility, reporting and PDCA of the Marketing budget
- Provide management with the necessary insight, context, commentary and reporting for the total Marketing budget to make informed decisions
- Responsible for creation of a budget presentation slide for the monthly incentive strategy meeting where quarterly marketing budgets are reviewed and approved by members of the Executive committee
- Responsible for monthly Risk & Opportunity Tracking and submitting to F&A at reforecast
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a detailed database for budget control purpose (SAP reports)
- Year-end support to Finance for audit questions relating to Toyota Marketing (incl. Lexus Digital and Toyota / Lexus Auto Show) accounts
- Coordinate the review of the monthly Purchase Order report from Purchasing with other budget administrators - involves reviewing all open PO’s in Marketing and identifying the ones to be closed
- Represents Marketing as key window to Finance & Accounting, Procurement & Tax department
- Improves fiscal budget planning and other processes within Marketing department
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- University/College Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- Highly proficient in the SAP system, previous experience an asset
- Highly proficient in MS Word and Excel (Macros, debugging, VLOOKUP, Linked sheets and Pivot Tables)
- 1-3 years of related experience, including accounting and budget management experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Marketing budget exposure/experience an asset
