About the role
Global Public Affairs is seeking a Senior Accountant for its finance department. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, the ideal candidate is detail oriented, has strong analytical skills and possess strong communication skills with a solid understanding of the accounting cycle, along with a minimum 3 years' working experience in a finance office setting. Currently enrolled in a professional accounting designation program is considered an asset, but not required.
This position offers a great opportunity to work on the fundamentals of a finance department and will allow for the opportunity to grow fundamental accounting skills while working in a forward thinking and positive team environment.

This is a mid-level position. Salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000. Experience working within the general accounting cycle, an accounting diploma/degree and experience using Great Plains accounting software are considered assets.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
• Manage Accounts Receivable – production of monthly invoices, maintain AR subledger, producing monthly AR reports and conducting follow ups
• Balancing company wide revenue sheets
• Assist with month and year-end close, general ledger reconciliations and financial statement preparation
• Monthly reconciliations (Employee benefits, prepaids, capital assets, etc.)
• Monthly adjusting entries
• Prepare account analysis
• Produce monthly reports
• Prepare monthly tax remittance information
• Co-ordination of timely monthly invoicing and reporting
• Maintaining data integrity of the general ledger
Skills and Qualifications
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Knowledge of Great Plains (Asset) or relevant accounting systems
• Experience working with Online Accounting Systems (banking, paperless expense systems)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Enrolled in professional accountant program (Asset)
