About the role

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for building, managing, and growing strategic customer relationships across Canada and the U.S. You will act as the primary point of contact for some of our largest customers, working cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to deliver on customer needs, drive profitable growth, and position Embassy as a preferred supplier.

What you are responsible for:

Account Management & Growth

  • Own relationships with key accounts
  • Identify growth opportunities, upsell/cross-sell Embassy’s flavours, mixes, and functional ingredients.
  • Deliver against sales targets and margin expectations.

Customer Engagement

  • Act as the customer’s voice within Embassy, ensuring alignment of needs across internal teams.
  • Lead customer meetings, innovation sessions, and product presentations.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure long-term partnerships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D to develop and commercialize customer-specific formulations.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, timely delivery, and supply chain reliability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on positioning, presentations, and new product launches.

Business Development

  • Prospect new opportunities within assigned accounts and new channels.
  • Support Embassy’s expansion in the U.S. and other markets where applicable.
  • Track competitive activity and market trends to provide insights for strategic decision-making.

Reporting & CRM

  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and account plans.
  • Track opportunities and progress in CRM, ensuring timely updates for management.
  • Provide account performance updates, gap analysis, and growth strategies

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, or Business Development (food ingredients, bakery, flavours strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of growing large, complex accounts.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills.
