Organizational Information

Purpose of your Position - Non Union

Classification Summary - Union

Help create Kelowna as a City of the Future. We are seeking someone with a positive outlook, solid organization, and administrative skills. An individual with a strong focus on verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and time management skills. Generally, you would provide clerical and administrative support to both the Parks Planning & Design and Partnerships departments. This will include direct communication with the public and other clients.

This role supports our team by providing reception coverage, preparing, and issuing legal documents and other correspondence. You would be required to receive and respond to service requests from the staff and the public and occasionally assist with on-site public engagement. Maintenance of electronic records, completion of financial transactions and researching and compiling statistics.

An Administrative Clerk provides clerical and administrative support, including direct communication with the public and other clients.

Duties - Union

  • Provides reception services to department; receives, records, responds to and/or refers enquiries and complaints; investigates and resolves customer queries.

  • Prepares and issues legal documents, standard correspondence, Council reports and advertisements.

  • Receives and responds to service requests from staff and the public.

  • Creates, inputs, updates and maintains various electronic records including timecard data and website updates; generates computer reports.

  • Provides administrative support, including booking appointments and ordering of supplies.

  • Completes financial transactions, including invoicing, accounts payable, receivable and credit card items.

  • Researches and compiles statistics; develops, organizes and maintains departmental filing and bring-forward systems.

Pay Rate

Starts at $30.64 per hour with a 2-step progression to $34.29 per hour plus 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits
