Regional Sales Manager – Power Utilities (Remote – Canada)
About the role
Salary: CAD 130,000 – 140,000 per year Work Model: Remote (Work from home) Locations: Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton Reporting to: CEO Travel: Up to 50% Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and self-driven sales professional with strong expertise in power utilities and power systems, particularly secondary equipment and solutions. The role focuses on managing key customer relationships, driving new business development, and accelerating regional sales growth across Canada. You will act as a trusted advisor to utility clients while collaborating closely with technical teams, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with utility customers Manage and support existing accounts with both technical and commercial expertise Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities across assigned regions Develop and execute annual sales budgets, forecasts, and growth strategies Collaborate with channel partners to expand market reach and revenue Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, and technical presentations Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events Maintain accurate CRM records and manage sales pipeline effectively Submit regular activity reports and sales updates to leadership Work closely with engineering and support teams to ensure customer success Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities Required Skills & Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience Minimum 10+ years of complex technical solution sales experience At least 5 years of experience in the power systems / utilities sector Strong exposure to transmission, distribution, or generation utilities Knowledge of protective relays, fault recorders, and related systems Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Proven ability to work independently and manage a remote territory Experience with CRM tools and sales tracking systems Excellent organizational and time management skills Clean background and ability to pass a negative drug screening Ideal Candidate Profile Strong hunter mentality with ability to grow new business Consultative sales approach with technical confidence Established network within utility or power sector (preferred) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
