Position Title: Machine Operator Department: Fabrication Location: Nobleford About AGI Ag Growth International (AGI) is a Canadian based food infrastructure company. The Opportunity In this role you will be able to set up, calibrate, and operate metal fabrication machines (Laser, Turret, Punches, Brakes and Shears), CNC machines, and/or roll forming equipment.

The Team You will work independently to complete projects in an efficient manner and will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines that are CNC controlled, as well as Presses, Brakes, Shears and Saws
  • Measure and examine a sample of the machine product before making a full production run
  • Check machine operation and report faults to their supervisor
  • Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on machines
  • Read and understand blueprints, specifications and drawings
  • Set machinery up to operate within precise parameters
  • Communicate with maintenance or engineering personnel regarding setup of equipment and technical issues.
  • Complete all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work safely
  • Completion of grade 12 or GED
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Must be comfortable using a computer
  • Exemplary attendance record
  • Must enjoy practical work and technical activities, and possess a mechanical aptitude
  • Prior experience operating a CNC machine in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Must have strong work ethic, good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
