About the role
Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current registration in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Adaptability in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and strong organizational and time-management skills are also required. Successful completion of the NICU Medication Administration exam at the time of interview is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Connect Care, along with a minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a Level 2 NICU, is required. Current NRP certification is preferred, and formal breastfeeding education is considered an asset.
