Our Team
This position is within the Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineering department under Engineering, Program Management and Specialized Aircraft Organization. The M&P function is primarily responsible to ensure the effective selection and application of materials and processes in the design, manufacture and operation of all Bombardier aircrafts. M&P supports all stages of aircraft development (from concept to entry into service), sustaining operations and in-service needs. This position could potentially be a stepping-stone towards a new graduate hiring program, which will be a great opportunity to enter the exciting world of Aerospace as an engineer.
What are your contributions to the team?
- Work closely with M&P engineers from Core Engineering, Final Assembly Line & Interiors of the Global 7500/6500/5500 family of Aircraft
- Work on day-to-day challenges as well as long term projects encompassing multiple M&P domains (e.g. metallics, composites, coatings, sealants, surface treatments, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, interior flammability, etc.)
- Participate in the management of environmental regulations & substitution of banned substances projects to ensure compliance of Bombardier products to International Environmental Regulations
- Develop test plans, work with internal and external laboratories to execute test plan, analyze results and write test reports
- Develop and maintain project plans to ensure timely execution of projects
- Manage risks and issues during project execution and escalate in a timely manner
- Prepare and present project summary/results to senior specialists and management
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as departmental key processes, development of new tools, key performance indicators, etc.
- Participate in team building activities
During your internship, you will learn:
- Technical knowledge on various domains of Materials & Processes – structures & completions
- Develop teamwork, communication and manage multiple priorities
- Practical knowledge of the inner workings of a multinational company
How to thrive in this role?
- You are familiar with fundamentals of material science including metallics, polymer, composites and chemical processes.
- You are enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials or Chemical or Mechanical
- You have knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- You have good analytical and project management skills
- You are proactive in nature and have a clear drive for results
- You are bilingual in written and spoken English and French
