This is a 12 month Fixed Term Position
Who will you be working with?
Wabtec’s Bach-Simpson division is the lead Event Recorder OEM in the North American Transit market. It designs, develops, and maintains an array of electronic systems and Automated Test Equipment for passenger and freight rail markets.
How will you make a difference?
As a member of Bach-Simpson and Wabtec’s Core Electronics Group, you will be responsible for developing software in a managed process environment. Primary work will focus on web tools and process automation utilities, and includes analyzing new requirements, writing, testing, debugging, and improving both new and existing code. You will work in an Agile methodology, meeting daily with the team to facilitate work collaboration and to support each other. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager, who will meet with you during daily team stand-up meetings as well as quarterly or more for one on ones.
What do we want to know about you?
- Working towards a degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- “Full stack” experience with ASP.Net, C#, and SQL or equivalent is advantageous
- Can communicate (verbal and written) clearly, accurately, and eloquently in English
- What extra-curricular or hobby projects have you done?
What will your typical day look like?
- Attend daily stand-up meetings with the software team
- Use internal systems to manage your work assignments and time spent on tasks
- Work at times individually or collaboratively with others on the team on software projects
- Enjoy the free coffee
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The salary range for this role is between $25-27/hour The actual wage offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
