Meet our client We are partnering with a leading organization in the Canadian Railway industry to find a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer.

About The Role The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of high-voltage electrical systems across key rail engineering projects. Working under the supervision of the Engineering Director and in close collaboration with Production teams, you will be a technical anchor across multiple departments, from initial design through to project delivery and commissioning.
Your Responsibilities Design & Development
- Participate in electrical design and contribute to the development of control logic.
- Produce electrical schematics, diagrams, and wiring layouts
- Select and specify electrical components aligned with project requirements.
- Generate wiring lists that respect the physical layout of equipment
Testing & Commissioning
- Plan and coordinate electrical tests on locomotives and sub-systems at supplier sites
- Document and instrument test procedures; manage testing coordination.
- Draft test specifications and ensure integration of the required standard
- Design specific test rigs and setups adapted to project needs.
- Analyze test results, write test reports, and deliver relevant recommendations.
- Ensure measurement quality and calibration of test equipment.
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate closely with other departments and provide technical support across teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Guide technicians toward practical and effective technical solutions.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education, if applicable).
- Active membership in good standing with the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong design involvement.
- Familiarity with project-based organizational structures
- Excellent technical problem analysis and structured troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication abilities and an irreproachable sense of ethics.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, advanced Excel.
- Prior experience in the Railway industry (AAR, APTA, FRA standards) is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or Inventor (engineering design software).
