About the role
BCIT School Of Health Sciences is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.6FTE) Assistant Instructor in the Bridging Medical Radiography Technology Program. The successful candidate will support the skills sessions offered on the Burnaby campus through the month of August, 3 days/week (Monday, Thursday and Friday’s).
The successful candidate will work with the course instructor to provide student support and evaluate learning, while being an integral part of the Bridging Medical Radiography team. Assistant Instructor provides instructor support in the program laboratories by assisting with skills session set up, providing students with practical instruction, direction, and ongoing feedback. They are also responsible for student evaluations and marking. Support for the course instructor may also include course preparation, delivery, and the coordination of learning activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES**:**

Support student learning in various lab spaces

Provide student with ongoing feedback to assist with skill development

Set up for application labs

Assess students in positioning, equipment and simulation labs

Assist lead course instructor as required

Undertake related duties as assigned, consistent with this position.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS**:**
Education:
- Diploma in Medical Radiography
- SimPath Courses (available through BCIT SimPath)
VCC PIDP courses or equivalent
License(s)/Certifications(s):
- Current registration with CAMRT, CTIC considered an asset.
Experience:
- 3 year’s experience as a Medical Radiography Technologist
- Evidence of continuing education in the field
- Evidence of interest and previous teaching experience
- Team player committed to a collaborative approach to education and training as well as ability to work independently when required
Software/Computer Application(s) and Expertise:
- Microsoft, Excel, WebEx
- Siemens and Philips medical radiography equipment familiarity
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with students and other members of the team.
- Problem solving skills an asset
- Highly organized
- Demonstrated commitment and consistent practice
Administrative Skills (e.g., prioritizing, minute taking, wp speed, etc.):
- Strong computer skills as all courses have content delivered in the Learning Hub
Other Skills/Abilities:

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Salary Range
Salary Range: $68,182 - $93,143 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
