KCDS is seeking applicants to fill the role of Part-time Employment Resource Advisor at our Trail WorkBC Centre. This is a part-time position, working 2 days / week (14 hours), for a 6-month term.

If this sounds like your jam, come join our Employment Resource Advisor team who plays a critical role in assisting clients in the WorkBC Centre Resource hub. This position is an in-person role based out of our Trail WorkBC Centre with occasional travel to our Castlegar location.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the WorkBC Centre Manager, the Resource Advisor strives to create a welcoming, accessible, informative, inclusive, and culturally appropriate environment that supports and assists individuals to prepare for, secure, and maintain sustainable employment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orienting clients to the WorkBC Centre and programs
- Assessing clients for eligibility and services and referring to community services where appropriate
- Maintaining WorkBC Centre resources (including job boards, ‘How to’ resources, cover letter and resume templates, etc.)
- Ensuring seamless client service through clear and accurate communications, scheduling, documentation, data entry and more
- Maintaining WorkBC Centre computers/software, office equipment, and hard copy resources to ensure smooth and timely operations in a high-demand environment
- Providing Outreach services as required
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills: ability to develop and maintain a respectful, collaborative and productive relationship with clients, colleagues, community, service providers and employers
- Proficient at working independently and enjoys being part of a highly collaborative team
- Ability to provide service in a variety of formats; 1 to 1, in groups, online, and over the phone
- Highly proficient with computers, equipment and technology used to support clients in their job search; MS Office programs, web-based assessment tools, social media platforms, web-based research tools, and web-based learning platforms
- Strong conflict resolution skills, ability to manage difficult situations and respond effectively to client complaints and clients in crisis
- Able to adapt productively to changes in workflow and operational priorities in the work environment
- Demonstrates excellent organization and time-management skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree or diploma in a related discipline or demonstration of a combination of relevant experience and training
- Experience providing client/customer service
- Experience working with individuals with complex barriers and broad range of cultural backgrounds an asset
Additional requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must consent to a Criminal Record Check as required
- Must be able to work in the Trail location with possible occasional travel to other KCDS locations
Wage:$24.15 / hour plus group benefits after 90 days of employment
