Site Description:
City of Brampton is a diverse, cosmopolitan, and vibrant place to be. From a population of 523,911 in 2011, Brampton is now Canada’s second fastest growing and 9th largest city. You will encounter in the course of your duties, encounter numerous situations which cannot be covered by Standing Orders, site specific security operations procedures which outlines the duties and contain property and facility information. For this reason, it is imperative that you have a proven ability to use your own initiative and judgement and can represent the City of Brampton in a firm but courteous manner.

Position: Full-Time Dispatch
Site: City of Brampton - Bramalea Civic Centre - 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6T1B4
Hours: Continental Nights (1930 - 0730)
Payrate: $23.35/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Internal Posting Date: November 3rd, 2025

Internal Closing Date: November 10th, 2025

External Closing Date: November 17th, 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • In this key role, you will oversee several sites within the City of Brampton. Your role will be to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control and CCTV
  • You will assist in tracking and deployment of security staff and handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.
    • Utilizing Two-way Radio Communication and Perspective Software
    • Overseeing the tracking and deployment of security personnel across all of City of Brampton sites
    • Monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety
    • Access control and parking
    • Assign reports to security personnel when required using reporting software
    • Investigate routine incidents

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 (three) years of dispatch security experience required
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of security experience or related experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the certification with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
