About the role

As an Integration & Automation Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

  • Maintain advanced technical knowledge and skills to contribute to the development and enhancement of integration and automation features in SEL products.
  • Define, develop and analyze product specifications, functional tests, and system validation processes.
  • Diagnose customer reported problems with integration and communication features and document issues for developers.
  • Provide technical and market analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements.

This job might be for you if:

  • You possess a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • You have demonstrated experience with multiple communication protocols and their application in an electrical power system environment. Emphasis on Ethernet and Pseudo-Wire Emulation services an asset
  • Typically, you will have 2+ years of experience in setup and configuration of a broad range of network devices and interfaces with Python and REST API.
  • Typically, you will have 2+ years of experience in a verification or compliance role within new product introduction team. Previously collaboration with R&D engineers.

It would be nice if you had:

Typically, 2+ years of experience in electric power SCADA or EMS practices

Experience contributing to product development teams

Working knowledge of the following:

  • SEL products and protocols
  • Electric utility telecommunications

Burnaby, BC- This position is located in Burnaby, BC, east of Vancouver. Burnaby is the one of the largest cities in British Columbia. Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as an Integration & Automation Engineer $85,000 – $112,000 CAD. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
