About the role

We are looking for a Table Saw Operator to execute high-precision cutting for our manufacturing process. You will be responsible for the setup and operation of industrial sliding table saws, ensuring all components meet strict dimensional tolerances and quality standards. We need a focused operator who is committed to accuracy, machine optimization, and shop safety.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform high-accuracy cuts on a large sliding table saw, ensuring dimensions match technical drawings.
  • Select and change saw blades based on material type to ensure clean, chip-free finishes.
  • Execute daily and weekly machine maintenance and follow start-up/shut-down procedures.
  • Identify and protect light-sensitive species (e.g., cherry) and manage various veneer grain patterns.
  • Conduct exit inspections for quality and completeness, documenting any non-conforming products.
  • Stack and protect finished products using foam or cardboard to prevent surface damage.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and prioritize work orders to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Understand and follow standard safety rules and procedures.

PREREQUISITES

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; a certificate in woodworking or cabinetmaking is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in professional millwork or industrial woodworking.
  • Proven experience safely operating a large industrial sliding table saw.
  • Expert ability to read a tape measure and calculate complex fractional dimensions.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to maintain tolerances within +/- 0.5mm.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic attitude, thriving in a collaborative team,
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Approaches work with a high degree of organization and attention to detail,
  • Understands and adheres to federal and provincial health and safety regulations and is aware of workplace hazards.
