The Role
The Job Developer is a key member of the Employment Services team, responsible for supporting youth with epilepsy and related disabilities to prepare for, secure, and find meaningful employment.
Responsibilities
Employer Engagement Drive employer engagement and business development activities by generating leads, prospecting new employer partners, conducting outreach, developing relationships, and converting opportunities into employment partnerships. Build and maintain relationships with local employers in and around Ontario to identify inclusive hiring opportunities. Collaborate with employers to create and implement workplace accommodation and seizure response plans. Provide post-hire follow-up and retention support to ensure long-term success for both job seekers and employers. Represent Epilepsy Toronto at community events, job fairs, and employer networking sessions.
Coaching Clients
Support job seekers through individualized coaching, resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies Provide one-on-one coaching and assess clients' strengths, skills, and areas for development to ensure strong employer matching and successful employment outcomes. Develop and facilitate workshops focused on employment readiness, workplace communication, job retention, and related topics. Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team objectives and foster a supportive work environment. Bring creativity, actively contribute to brainstorming and problem-solving, and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve organizational goals.
Administrative Work
Track, document, and report on activities and outcomes to ensure compliance with program and funding requirements. Document employer interactions and log outreach. Manage administrative processes, including brokered incentive agreements, case notes, logging pay stubs, and handling ERFS payments Provides ongoing support with reporting, data tracking, and other administrative reporting requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in business, marketing, employment counselling, social work or a related field. Exceptional sales, negotiation, and business development skills with the ability to generate leads, build employer pipelines, and secure employment opportunities. Proven experience in job development, employer engagement, workforce development or buisness to business (B2B) sales. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities, ideally in a vocational or employment support setting, is a major asset. Proficient in contacting both cold and warm prospects via cold calling and other outreach methods.
Skilled in facilitating wage subsidies (presentation and facilitation)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and employers. Experience facilitating workshops and group sessions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in reporting and documentation. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or events, to meet program goals.
