Specialist Safety Trainer

Role Description The Specialist Safety Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS. This position is responsible for delivering engaging health and safety training programs, including classroom and practical sessions, to diverse participant groups. Day-to-day tasks include developing training materials, updating course content to reflect current regulations and best practices, and assessing participant learning outcomes. The Specialist Safety Trainer will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to tailor training solutions, provide guidance on safety practices, and support continuous improvement in safety culture. Administrative duties such as maintaining training records, preparing reports, and coordinating training schedules are also part of the role. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety knowledge and practical experience in applying safety standards and regulations. Candidates should possess recognized safety credentials such as NEBOSH or equivalent occupational health and safety certifications. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to varied audiences. Candidates should possess Training and Safety Training skills, including curriculum development, instructional delivery, and learner assessment. Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in occupational health and safety or a related field are beneficial. Experience delivering training in industrial, construction, or transportation environments is an asset. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple training sessions and schedules are important. Proficiency with common office software and presentation tools, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in safety.
