We are seeking a Compliance Specialist – Licensing Coordinator to join our team in Canada. This is a hybrid role with a preferred location of Toronto, Ontario. The ideal candidate will bring strong insurance licensing compliance experience, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset to help support our licensed colleagues, manage regulatory licensing requirements, and advance our compliance program. Reporting to the Marsh Risk Chief Compliance Officer (Canada), you will play a key role in overseeing and managing individual licensing with provincial and territorial regulators across Canada. You will also support licensed colleagues with licensing inquiries and help identify, assess, and address licensing-related compliance risks across the business. What’s in it for you? A company culture founded in integrity, responsible teamwork, and experience A fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to colleagues and leadership across the business A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where every voice is heard and everyone belongs What you will do Support Marsh Risk’s success and reputation by promoting a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and high standards Serve as a trusted advisor to colleagues on insurance licensing compliance matters Manage and support individual licensing activities with provincial and territorial regulators across Canada Identify, analyze, and advise on licensing risk and compliance issues within insurance brokerage and consulting businesses Demonstrate subject matter knowledge in one or more licensing areas, including: Agency/Brokerage licensing TPA licensing Consultant licensing Reinsurance licensing Adjuster licensing Stay current on legal and regulatory changes affecting insurance licensing and help update compliance programs and internal processes accordingly Partner with business, operations, and compliance colleagues to solve problems and improve processes Exercise sound judgment in compliance decisions and know when to escalate issues to the Chief Compliance Officer Develop and deliver internal guidance and communications related to insurance licensing requirements Conduct licensing monitoring activities, identify remediation actions, and track follow-up to completion Interact effectively with provincial and territorial regulators, including proactive outreach and responses to inquiries Support continuing education activities, including course accreditations, attendee certification, and credit issuance Support regulator portal activities, including reporting on digital offerings, onboarding new colleagues, and managing related payments What you need to have Minimum of 3 years of relevant insurance industry experience in licensing compliance and/or licensing operations Experience in an insurance brokerage/agency, insurance company, or regulatory advisory environment preferred; equivalent finance industry experience will also be considered Strong working knowledge of insurance licensing regulation and risk Experience with insurance licensing frameworks and provincial requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams and matrixed organizations Ability to support or participate in regulatory examinations, enforcement proceedings, or investigations, as needed Strong ethical standards, accountability, and commitment to compliant behavior Proven ability to bring complex projects to successful and timely completion What makes you stand out? Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $64,600 to $96,900. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
