**This position is a hybrid role based out of our Vancouver, BC office**
About the role
As a Tax Manager, Canada, you’ll lead Canadian and global tax compliance for entities with cross-border operations, tackle emerging reporting requirements like Pillar Two and Country-by-Country, and support strategic tax planning initiatives. You’ll be a key player in optimizing global tax structures, managing provisions, and advising on acquisitions and reorganizations—all while collaborating with internal teams and external advisors to ensure seamless compliance and impactful guidance.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Canadian and international tax compliance: Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns for entities with international operations, including foreign affiliate reporting (T1134), Country-by-Country reporting, and Pillar Two (GloBE) reporting.
- Ensure accurate foreign affiliate reporting: Maintain proper reporting of Foreign Accrual Property Income (FAPI) and surplus accounts of foreign affiliates.
- Support transfer pricing compliance: Assist with documentation and compliance related to transfer pricing requirements across jurisdictions.
- Contribute to tax provision and audit readiness: Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions for the consolidated group and support audit processes.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies: Contribute to initiatives aimed at optimizing global effective tax rates, including financing structures, cross-border cost allocations, and repatriation planning.
- Advise on cross-border structuring: Support tax-efficient structuring of cross-border acquisitions and reorganizations.
- Act as a subject-matter expert: Provide guidance on Canadian inbound and outbound transactions, collaborating closely with finance, legal, treasury, and other internal teams.
- Coordinate with external advisors: Manage relationships with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and completeness of Canadian and international tax filings.
What you bring
- Degree and/or designation in: Accounting; CPA designation required.
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in: Canadian International tax experience within professional services or corporate settings.
- Proven experience in preparing T1134 and CbC reporting with experience of surplus calculation.
- Strong proficiency in: Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills: Ability to translate complex tax matters clearly and build strong partnerships across departments.

Approximate Salary Range for this Role: $120,000 - $135,000
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
