About the role
PURPOSE
The Analyst, Reporting and Data is accountable to the Supervisor, Reporting & Analytics for the identification, development, maintenance, and preparation of reporting templates used by internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely and accurate delivery, including the coordination of routine operations and small-scale projects. The incumbent also manages and monitors schedules to ensure the timely completion of tasks and deliverables. Leveraging both business and financial knowledge paired with their technical skill, proven communication and problem-solving skills, resolves issues related to the delivery of quarterly and annual financial packages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and maintains, collects, and compiles, business data analysis and trends from a variety of sources both internal and external, manages administrative tasks. Prepare ad hoc reports including recurring reporting needs for internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Data Analytics / Creation and Maintenance- Assisting with the creation and publishing of a set of data derived from one or more sources of primary data sources to address a particular business need.
Client and Investor Reporting- Responsible for the population of regularly recurring reports ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of reporting to internal and external clients. Addresses pertinent issues for accurate reporting of financial activities to stakeholders.
Development and Maintenance of Report Templates- Develops and maintains report master templates to increase efficiency and consistency in regular and ad hoc reporting working closely with the internal stakeholders and re-using reports or report components whenever possible. Populates, validates, and troubleshoots various business reports and master templates by running data quality tests, reviewing the links between templates and relevant data from different source systems and working with the data domain owners. Tools for extraction and report programming include Yardi, SQL, Microsoft Power Reports, Excel, macros, pivot tables, graphs, and charts, and Visual Basic.
Business Process Improvement- Suggests ongoing ways to improve processes for for greater efficiency and effectiveness to report master templates, to ensure the required information, as specified by various stakeholders (e.g., accounting, management, investors, etc.), is included on the templates with both financial and non-financial information.
User and Business Needs Analysis- Assists with reporting requirement analysis by participating and facilitating communication with operation and finance groups and IT when required, documenting specifications, and developing reporting solutions. Supports leading the analysis and design of process and reporting requirements.
Reporting Services and Business Plan Inbox Support- Manages all stakeholder queries regarding regular reporting, including answering questions about published reports, taking suggestions on how to improve reports, and communicating schedule of reporting.
Data Integrity- Develops, performs, and maintains data integrity / validation using regular audits, reviewing reports, and analyzing data for the accuracy and completeness used by Finance and Client reporting.
Administration- Oversees administrative responsibilities to ensure monthly, quarterly, annual and project schedules are consistently maintained and current. Duties are clearly defined, with assigned accountability and established deadlines. Manages timelines proactively, tracking progress to guarantee that deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.

Minimum Requirements
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics) or equivalent
- Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant reporting experience
- Good knowledge in Yardi system
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, macros, pivot tables, graphs & charts).
- knowledge of database design and queries (SQL, Power Query, Power BI)
- knowledge of Real Estate business practices and processes in both Commercial and Residential sector
- Understanding of project management practices is an asset.
