About the role
Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, you will spearhead a dynamic portfolio that touches every corner of the Foundation. You’ll lead and inspire a talented team, including direct oversight of the Manager, Total Rewards and People Analytics, while collaborating closely with leaders across the organization to foster a high-performing, inclusive, and purpose-driven culture.
As the Associate Director, Culture, EDI and Total Rewards , you will play a pivotal role in reimagining our workplace culture and embedding equity, diversity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. You’ll also lead the evolution of our Total Rewards and People Analytics programs—ensuring our people feel valued, empowered, and supported to thrive.

You Will Culture & Employee Experience Transformation
- Champion SickKids Foundation’s culture transformation and support the integration of aspirational values into all people programs and processes.
- Design and lead initiatives that amplify engagement, belonging, recognition, and well-being—with real impact and metrics.
- Collaborate with leaders to embed inclusive leadership practices and desired behaviours throughout the employee experience.
- Provide coaching, tools, and frameworks that help leaders become role models of the culture we aspire to build.
Drive Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy
- Lead the continued development, execution, and monitoring of the Foundation’s multi-year EDI roadmap.
- Partner with internal groups—including the People and Culture team, the EDI Committee, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and senior leadership—to co-create programs that promote representation, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Act as a strategic advisor to ensure EDI best practices are integrated across all HR functions—from recruitment and onboarding to leadership development and policy design.
- Oversee enterprise-wide EDI training initiatives and champion inclusive leadership.
- In collaboration with Internal Communications, develop a compelling EDI communications strategy to drive engagement and visibility.
- Support the growth and success of new and existing ERGs while staying current on EDI trends to ensure the Foundation remains progressive and informed.
Shape the Future of Total Rewards
- Oversee all aspects of Total Rewards, including compensation, payroll, benefits, wellness, and recognition—building programs that are thoughtful and impactful.
- Guide the annual compensation planning cycle, salary benchmarking, and job evaluation process to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Manage the full lifecycle of our benefits program—from design and administration to renewals, compliance, and vendor partnerships.
- Champion holistic wellness and meaningful recognition and reward strategies that elevate the employee experience and reinforce what we stand for.
- Stay on top of compliance with legislation such as the Pay Equity Act, Pay Transparency, and other key employment standards.
Empower with People Analytics & Insights
- Lead the development and execution of end-to-end People Analytics strategy that delivers meaningful, actionable insights to leaders.
- Oversee the design and upkeep of dynamic HR dashboards, scorecards, and reports—tracking key metrics like engagement, turnover, internal mobility, and EDI representation.
- Identify workforce trends, spotlight opportunities, and monitor progress against culture, engagement, and EDI goals.
- Be a champion for evidence-based decision-making, using people data to inform strategy, improve experiences, and drive organizational performance.
- Design and implement feedback loops—surveys, pulse checks, listening tools—that help us stay tuned into what our employees need and value most.

Qualifications While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:
- 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience with expertise in EDI, Culture Transformation and experience in Total Rewards/Talent Management
- Knowledge of Total Rewards include benefits design, job evaluation, and pay equity legislation.
- Demonstrated success in leading/supporting organizational culture and/or EDI transformation initiatives at an enterprise level.
- In-depth knowledge of change management principles.
- Experience in workforce data analysis and developing HR metrics dashboards.
- Proven track record of coaching and managing team members and influencing at senior levels.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to inspire diverse audiences and encourage greater engagement.
- High emotional intelligence enabling the best conditions for strong relationships and trust within the Foundation.
- Proficient using various digital tools, software and platforms.

Total Compensation Package Hiring Salary Range: $99,297 – $124,121; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $142,739. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate Director, Culture, EDI and Total Rewards
