The Financial Markets Support group is an important part of the Bank's Treasury. The group is responsible for the management of activities related to settlement of fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange and Swift payments. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Markets Support, the Analyst will be performing tasks to support PnL, compliance, operational and regulatory risk reporting and assist with Treasury applications support. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Capital Markets products, Payments Canada clearing systems (LYNX), FINTRAC regulations and some experience working in a Treasury or Capital Markets back office.
Responsibilities
- Processing of CDS, Fixed income & entitlements activities
- Support and processing of daily foreign exchange (FX) operations throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Ensuring timely completion and management of SWIFT wire payments, as well as related accounting and communication.
- Processing reconciliations associated with various operations in the sector.
- Execution of non-payment swift messages, and ensuring timely closure of any counterparty queries or concerns in exception or investigation
- Supporting activities related to Regulatory risk and Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AMLTF) regulations (Payment Sanction Screening, FINTRAC and internal risk reporting).
- Maintaining current knowledge of existing legislation, policies, programs, and procedures and stay abreast of market trends.
- Additional various operational support activities including logical access/user management, data quality management, transaction confirmations.
- Communicating with internal groups and external clients on remediating outstanding queries and concerns around the above topics in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a related discipline and 3 years related experience.

Experience with:
- Payments Canada framework (LYNX), Swift, Foreign Exchange (CLS), Fixed Income, and Derivatives
- Compliance related to payments or financial markets is an asset
- Recognized Certification such as Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) is an asset
- Financial markets products and activities
- Excel (Macros, VBA)
- Bilingualism French English essential*
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Shows Autonomy, Initiative, Teamwork and Responsiveness

Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
