The Assistant Plant Controller will work closely with the Plant Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the plant operations. The individual in this role will support daily accounting and finance activities, while also playing a crucial role in the WAM (Armacell Worldclass Manufacturing) program, serving as Co-leader of the CD Pilar initiative. This dual role requires a strong financial acumen along with leadership skills to drive operational excellence, financial efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration in the CD Pilar program.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to plant management and corporate teams.
- Analyze variances in key performance indicators (KPIs), budget vs. actuals, and other financial metrics.
- Support plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Cost Control & Financial Compliance:
- Assist in the analysis of plant cost structures and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies and financial regulations.
- Review inventory valuation, fixed assets, and manufacturing costs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- WAM Program – Co-leader of CD Pilas:
- Co-lead the CD Pilas initiative within the WAM Program, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices, focusing on optimizing plant performance, reducing waste, and improving efficiency.
- Coordinate and track progress on specific CD Pilas goals and KPIs, ensuring alignment with broader WAM program objectives.
- Partner with plant management, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement solutions that support WAM program objectives.
- Provide support to plant leadership to troubleshoot issues related to the implementation of the WAM program and CD Pilas.
- Strategic Planning & Cross-functional Leadership:
- Act as a key partner to plant leadership in driving financial performance, ensuring alignment between financial goals and operational performance.
- Participate in strategic discussions, offering financial insights and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Work closely with operations, production, and engineering teams to ensure financial and operational goals are met.
- Systems and Tools:
- Utilize financial and operational tools to monitor performance and drive data-driven decisions.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and systems that enhance plant financial controls and operational efficiency.
- Lead the finance S&OP process, ensuring that all existing processes have their own S&OP and are well standardized.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of Finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SAP data environment is preferred.
- Prior experience in World Class Manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Lotus Notes.
- Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Can work independently and multi-task in faced paced environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and be comfortable maneuvering in the manufacturing environment.
